Pupils at Hatherleigh Community Primary School designed some wonderful safety posters about the potential dangers of building sites after a visit by Kingswood Homes project manager Alex Swann.
Alex is in charge of construction at The Market Quarter, our development in the heart of the historic Devon town, and went in to talk to children about site safety.
Alex returned to see the pupils’ work and present the winning artists with book tokens.
He said: “With the summer holidays now upon us it is important that children understand that building sites are not a playground and I think the posters show that they have taken the lessons on board. It was tough choosing the winners and Kingswood Homes would like to thank all the children and the school for getting involved.”
Head teacher Alan Monger said: “Alex was brilliantly engaging with the children, explaining about the construction process of building houses and the potential dangers on a building site. It also raised their interest in the diversity and excitement of working in construction, so hopefully we might have encouraged the next generation of building professionals.”
The Market Quarter features a wide range of three and four bedroom homes and bungalows and is proving hugely popular with five of the nine houses released in the first phase already reserved.
