The second bidder, Pete Marquis of Preston-based Pete Marquis Contractors, took the total to an amazing £11,500.
Paul Jones, managing director of Kingswood Homes, said: “What started as a bit of fun for our team ended in raising a significant amount of money for Derian House.
“It is difficult to put into words the generosity of Alison who made her donation in memory of her father and it was a fantastic gesture to ask for the car to then be re-auctioned.
“A huge thank you also to our second buyer Pete Marquis who is a prolific supporter of North West charities and we can’t wait to see what he has planned for our Cozy Coupe in the future. Along with Alison, Pete’s donation will support Derian in helping them provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people from across the North West.”
