COUPLE FALL IN LOVE WITH NEW HOME IN FORTON

EXPANDING their search has enabled a Lancashire couple to secure a home that’s miles ahead of other properties they viewed.

Steph Maguire and Paul Milburn haven’t looked back since moving from Hest Bank to The Hollies in Forton.

“We’d looked at other new build properties in Halton and Caton but they were out of our budget and when we came to view the Kingswood Homes show home at The Hollies we absolutely loved it. We’d previously thought Forton was too far out but when we drove here we realised it wasn’t,” Steph explained.

“We’re used to being in the centre of a village, close to Paul’s parents and my sister, but we’re only 15 miles or one motorway junction from where we used to live.”

Unbeknown to the couple, Steph already knew one of their new neighbours..

“I found out when I posted on Instagram about buying here that a school friend lives just across the road. It’s such a coincidence,” Steph added.

Steph, 28, and Paul, 46, purchased a three-bedroom Court style property at the Kingswood Homes development.

“We wanted a new build to fit our lifestyle. I want things done yesterday so finding a house that was a complete project wasn’t me,” she explained.

“We didn’t want to spend all of our time and money on renovations. Buying a new build meant we were able to choose the flooring, the bathroom tiles and the kitchen and move straight in.

“Kingswood offered a high specification with extra things than other developers including a Ring doorbell and a Nest heating system. It’s miles ahead of everything else we’d seen.”

Kingswood’s Shape Your Home concept allows buyers the opportunity to design the internal layout of the property, but Steph and Paul opted to keep to the original configuration.

“We were surprised by how much space there is in the house,” Steph said.

“When you go through the hallway there’s a really good storage space and the cloakroom. It’s very open plan downstairs with an L-shape lounge leading into the dining room and galley kitchen.”

French doors open from the lounge onto the garden, which is also L-shaped and goes round the side of the property.

Upstairs, their home has three bedrooms, with Steph describing the en-suite to main bedroom as her bathroom, plus the family bathroom.

“We looked at the options for Shape Your Home and thought about opening up the smallest bedroom and making it a dressing room for the main bedroom but have decided to leave it as it was,” Steph added.

Lesley Myers, head of sales at Kingswood Homes, said: “Location is a key factor when choosing where to live and expanding your search area, as Paul and Steph did, can open up lots more opportunities. We’ve sold out at The Hollies but have a good choice of homes available around 20-minutes away by car at The Hawthorns in Elswick.”

At The Hawthorns, in Elswick, Kingswood has a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes available.
