“What can I say? It’s perfect.”
The Hawthorns is a select development of three, four and five-bedroom properties from Kingswood Homes offering a superb standard of contemporary living and innovative design.
Extremely popular, homeowners have leapt at the chance to own one of the fantastic properties and, with only selected plots and homes still available, anyone wishing to join Hannah and Mark will need to move quickly.
Mark, 56, and Hannah, 47, swapped a two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow in Lytham, which they’d extended, to enjoy village life at The Hawthorns.
Mark, an account manager for an energy consultancy firm, recalls: “Hannah had seen the marketing information for The Hawthorns, but I wasn’t interested in moving at first.
“But as soon as I saw the Kingswood properties, I thought the space and the look was amazing, and I was as keen to move forward as Hannah.”
The couple purchased a Byre 4 property which has a heart-of-the-home open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area – the kitchen has an excellent specification with an island and integrated appliances – plus combined laundry room and cloakroom. There is a separate lounge which, complementing the double doors in the dining area, boasts bi-fold doors leading out onto the garden.
Upstairs, the Wignalls embraced the flexibility Kingswood’s Shape Your Home offers and, instead of four bedrooms, one with en-suite, and a family bathroom, they chose to reconfigure theirs to the Sleep Luxe layout, to have three larger bedrooms, each with its own en-suite and dressing area.
Mark says: “We loved the downstairs layout because it suits the way we live. We like to entertain and having that space with the doors leading out onto the garden was ideal.
“The fact that we could configure the upstairs to suit us was even better. Our bedroom is like a boutique hotel suite, and we have plenty of room for family and friends to stay.
“We never think about the house we came from at all. This is home now. It’s another way of living – an enhanced way of living. We love the area, and we love the house.”
Mark and Hannah, a senior programme manager for Openreach, also loved the ‘painless’ move they enjoyed, thanks to Kingswood’s Assisted Move scheme. The housebuilder arranged for the Wignalls’ bungalow to be independently valued and marketed at an agreed price to secure a quick sale.
“We didn’t worry about getting stuck in a chain and we didn’t have to chase solicitors or estate agents because Kingswood did all the communicating for us,” Mark says.
“It was one of the easiest house moves either of us have ever been involved in.
Mark also praised Hawthorns’ sales consultant, Waseem Naqvi, and site manager, Ryan Corlett, for their ‘professionalism and quality’ which matched that of the house.
“I’d give Kingswood 10 out of 10 for their homes and their staff.”
The final homes at the Hawthorns are now on sale, with prices starting from £304,995.
Surrounded by fields, the development offers the best of rural and city living, with village amenities close by, and Preston just 30 minutes’ drive away.
