Kingswood is an innovative homebuilder and has created a panorama 3600 virtual tour of The Hawthorns – the first development the SME has given the interactive digital treatment. Subject to feedback, it could be rolled out across all future developments.
Combined with the use of virtual reality headsets as part of the company’s “Shape Your Home” concept, which allows customers to select from a range of floor plan configurations, the computer-generated panorama 3600 provides buyers with a truly immersive homebuying experience.
Head of sales Lesley Myers explained: “The land we’re building on in Elswick is going to be totally transformed and at this early stage in the development it can be difficult for people to visualise what it will look like. We had been selling via The Hollies in nearby Forton, but recognise the benefit of people being able to see where they will be living.
“Show homes at The Hawthorns are under construction, but there’s no need to wait to be able to view. We’ve embraced gaming technology to offer an interactive virtual tour with the chance to “explore” the development and “look” inside the homes and the gardens before they’re even built. We have a large touch screen in the sales centre for visitors to use, or they can access the tour via our website. It’s a great tool that enables all of the family to share the excitement of choosing where to live.”
A 50-home development, located on Beech Road, Elswick The Hawthorns offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom designs, with current prices from £252,995.
In keeping with the quintessential village location, the architecture of the homes is inspired by traditional Lancashire farmsteads and barns.
Inside, the homes offer contemporary living spaces perfect for modern family life with a high specification.
Using Kingswood’s industry-leading Shape Your Home concept, buyers choose the external design of their home and its footprint, then choose from a range of floor plans to ensure the layout suits their lifestyle.
“Once a home is water-tight, buyers will be able to use a VR headset to see what it would be like as a finished home, including testing out the different floor plans. Part of the fun of buying a new-build property is being able to style your home exactly how you want it, right from the start,” Lesley added.
“After you’ve chosen which of our houses you want to make your home, and then selected the internal configuration, you can then customise its interior selecting the kitchen units, bathroom tiles, flooring and more with the chance to ‘see’ each of the options virtually to help you decide.”
